Major William Beavers died in 1822. On the 17th of February 1823, his under-aged son Edwin R. Beavers was considered an infant by the court. An inventory of his property was submitted to the court by his guardian Jeduthan Carter. On January 26, 1829, Edwin Rush Beavers married Elizabeth B. Carter, daughter of Jeduthan Carter and his wife, the former Rebecca Rogers. In 1830, Edwin paid his brother John F. Beavers $3,000 for his interest in Beavers’ Mill on Sandy Creek. In 1840, Edwin Beavers had one unnamed Free Black Negro male in his household who was born between 1816 and 1830. He lived on the mill tract until he died and left the mill to his son Jeduthan Carter Beavers, on of his seven children. Edwin R. Beavers was dead by August 18, 1873, when the court. his estate was ordered appraised.
In the estate listing dated 1823 six slaves were listed as property of Edwin R. Beavers:
One Negro man by the name of Peter $400.00
One Negro woman by the name of Nancy $400.00
One Negro woman by the name of Creasy $375.00
One Negro woman by the name of Polly $340.00

As guardian, Jeduthan was required to keep an expense account for his ward Edwin R. Beavers. Following are some of the items:
On Nov. 4, 1823 – “Repairing the old dam before putting in the new $5.00”
On Mar. 15, 1824 – “Paid to Ro. Shelton for aperting? the miller in taking up and laying down mill $3.00”
In March of 1823, there are several entries involving the Mill on Sandy River:
“by 21 barrels corn sold from the mill @ $3 = $63.00”
“by 6 ½ bushels wheat @ $1 = 6.50”
“by 26 bushels wheat sold between the 1st Aug. 1823 and 1st May 1824 @ 7.5 cents = 19.50”
“by 2 bushels rye sold from the mill in 1823 @ 41 = 1.34”
“by 30 barrels 3 ½ bushels corn sold from the mill in 1824 @ $2 = 61.40”
“by 3 bushels bran = .18 ¾“
“by rent of Plantation for 1823 $75.00”
“by hire of Negro man Bristol in 1823 = $51.00”
“By hire of Negro woman Creasy = 19.50”
Nov 4, 1823: “One Negro girl Eleanor bought at your request = $150.00”
Nov. 4, 1823: “ 2/3 of the clothing furnished the MILLER = $7.50”
